It's hard to believe that I am in my twelfth season of living and working in Luxor for six months of the year. And in May of 2015 this blog turned eight! I can only hope that I will have the good fortune to return to Egypt for many years to come.
What do the Egyptians think of the Obama inauguration? We're all getting more and more excited here in boring Woodland. Bill.
ReplyDeleteBill, until today I would have said that no one in Luxor thought very much about the inauguration, but this afternoon/evening there arose a great and cheerful noise from the street outside CH and I cannot imagine that it was for anything but the change of "leadership" in the U.S. And then, in a bedroom at CH, 10 people from around the world (U.S., Jordan, Japan, Hungary and Italy) gathered in front of the TV to watch the inauguration! Hope lives!!
ReplyDeleteHi Marie,
ReplyDeleteI don't blog much but was pleased to find your posts while looking for a good photo of the new excavations of the avenue of the sphinxes.
I've been in your library, Brett took me thru on one of my trips to Egypt. I'm an OI donor, and in fact, if you keep the DVD collection in the library, lots of them are from me. How cool that you are enjoying your job! I think it would be fun. I'm from So CA the OC to be precise.
Can you post a photo of the front of CH and the trees that are soon going to be lost?
If you see Dr. Brett, pls tell him he owes me an email!
Happy New Year.
